The Perfect Prom
We understand that prom is one of the major events of your high school career. Top teen magazines state that 29% of you will be booking a makeup application right before the cameras start snapping. Look your best and keep these tips in mind before you sit down in that make-up chair.
Hair and Make-up should work together.
Make-up is like any other accessory, if you are wearing a lot of dress, a lot of hair, jewelry, and make-up, it will undoubtedly be too much. Try not to make too many statements at once. It’s easy to imagine your full look while you’re sitting down, but what about when you’re dancing or eating? A really glossy lip paired with hair worn down may not be the best choice when you’re dancing all night. Communicate the full vision to your artist before getting to work.
Book ahead and be realistic.
Whether you decide to get your prom make-up done here at Salon Lisa Brown or at another popular counter, make-up artist De’Erica Brown, cautions that make-up appointments begin filling up at least a month in advance at most counters. She also notes, clients often arrive with a red carpet picture that she knows (from experience!) required four hours of prep time. “I advise everyone to be realistic—think about what we can actually accomplish in a half hour,” she advises.
We offer various make-up services at Salon Lisa Brown (full face, lashes, brows, fills, application lessons, GLAM SQUAD & More). Schedule a consultation and be as specific as possible with what you need. Understanding how our customized make-up lessons are part of the purchase of redeemable products. Remember you and a few friends can book a Make-up Party and share the cost of being guided through the routine, allowing you to either apply it yourself or have it applied by an artist. For GLAM SQUAD services, a Consultation is REQUIRED. We have specific rates for this concierge service.
